Fences For Fido volunteers built our first-ever fence on Memorial Day weekend 2009. That fence was for a big yellow dog named Chopper, and Chopper truly was our first love.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect first fido. Chopper and his human, Keith, became lifelong friends and Keith, who wasn't sure Chopper needed a fence, saw the difference in Chopper as soon as he was unchained, and he became one of our best ambassadors. Keith and Chopper have both passed on, and we would love to imagine them together forever, just as we believe there's a little bit of Chopper in every fido we unchain.
